Well, it's always instructive to realise that the 3 series Soarer is now 17 years old, and most other marques are still catching up with the technology Mr T deployed back in 1990.... I think it's a bit cheap of MB to copy the shell design, but who cares, it doesn't look as good as my car; by the way, those wheels look as if they were taken out of a mincing machine..... come to think of it, that's what the MB is!!

Those bumper mounted exhausts and inlets look pretty retro. The wheels remind me of sink drain filters. :-)

TBH it looks nothing like a Soarer...twin exhausts and big rear lights is about it...

I can see where there are hints of the Soarer in this car. Besides the rear lights, it's more the side profile on the side that really makes you go, hang on a second........

Whoa! Do they use the same glass as the Soarer???

That second shot of the AE101 could have fooled me if it didn't have the drum brakes and plastic strip down the door/guard.

Now that I can see, the cabin is near identical. They are both toyotas I guess. Mini-Soarers!

My wife has an AE101 Levin - its even in a very similar colour to my JZZ31 and has similar wheels. Parked next to my Soarer they don't look that similar other than around the rear pillars, and they have nothing in common from a driving point of view - they are much, much shorter and narrower.
