| Well, as some of you are aware I am in a bit of a predicament. Upon request of a few people here I went out and ordered a bit of carbon fibre with the intentions of making pod shield and BFI lids. Now usually I wouldn't be stupid enough to spend that much without deposits first, but I had to order it by the end of November to ensure delivery prior to february. Here's the issue, all bar 3 of the people that said they wanted stuff have buggered off on me, now I am left with not much $$$ in the bank, and a roll of carbon fibre sitting idle in the house. This was a bit hush-hush before as I didn't want to get inundated with requests for every part on the car, but now I have no choice but to tell you all with the hope that I can sell some off to re-coup my costs. Please do not ask about lots of other parts, as these are the only parts that I am interested in doing at present, more MAY come later. So here is the deal, carbon fibre BFI lids... 2 layers of carbon fibre (top and bottom) with a layer of glass in between to add stiffness and keep the costs lower. As most people already have some sort of BFI, I will only be supplying them UNDRILLED, so you can put the holes in it to suit you existing mounting points, where ever you may have put them. I am in the process of making a template mold so I can turn out 3-4 over a weekend. I should have 2 ready within the next few weeks, then full steam ahead after that. The price will be $85 delivered. As for pics, I haven't finished the mold yet, so I haven't got one to show you atm, but you ALL know what a BFI lid looks like, and you ALL know what carbon fibre looks like, easy huh? |

| There'll have to be a bit more R&D for that, and it will be dependant on what fmic pipe kit you have. I have access to a car with Lew's pipe kit on there, but if you have anything else and aren't in Adelaide I'd have to supply it 'full wall' so to speak and you'd have to organise the cutouts for your pipes yourself. Basically the shield would run a 'L' shape around the rear and passenger side of the pod, and mount up flush to the drivers side guard, and go from the flat piece of the chassis all the way up to the bonnet, so that when the bonnet is close it will form a sealed container of sorts. Sound fair? |

| Ben, I am interested (I currently have the old Clark rubber foil covered foam lid), but as I have an active the Suspension Fluid dipstick is right next to the airbox. However.......as I am now a fellow SA member, I can show you on the weekend or when you are available. PM me and we can work out about meeting up for a look. Cheers |

| I would be interested in a pod shield also Ben, are you able to draw up something roughly in paint or something, so I can get an idea on what you are on about? (I am asian and don't understand english :p) Hmm gotta get onto Lew about a intake pipe then. |

| Pod shield similar to this, but following the path of the red line, and going all the way up to the bonnet instead of having a lid.
I will have to supply them UNCUT, ie if you have anything (like in the pic) like alarm sirens, boost valves, etc, you will have to modify it yourselves. Every soarer is different in this respect so there is no way I can make a 'generic' version. Similarly, if you have fmic pipes other than Lew's, you will have to make the cuts there to suit also, as unless I have the car infront of me, I can't custom make it to suit. Likewise, everybody's pods will be of different sizes, so I would have to supply them lidless, with sides all the way up to the bonnet. Kim, as for the piping mate, unfortunately Lew's airbox pipe will NOT be compatible with these as the angles will be all wrong. I can supply a pipe to suit if required (already have a template made) or you could get it made up locally? |

| C'mon Brenton, They need to learn early that they will only ever be no 2. If you string them along too much they get even more when they realise. |

| Mark, pics will be up once I have the mold finalised, the TT's and the V8's are ever so slightly different, so I am trying to get a happy medium so I can just use the one template. |
