Nah driving on the left is easy. After the first couple of trips I no longer think anything of it. Some people don't like it but I think it's just as easy, and it makes parallel parking in tight spots an absolute dream - no chance of hitting a wheel when you can look out the window at the wheel!

RHD converted cars are a pain. They're almost never the same again. Heater, AC, leg room, clutch, parts availability and steering. And it costs a lot and then the car is not worth as much!

I totally agree Miles. Virtually ALL my American vehicles I've had over the years were LHD, and I WOULDN'T have em any other way.

To me it's part of the joy of owning a classic US vehicle.

In NZ there some pretty shonky conversions done, with stupid things like Caddy's that still had the master power window controls on the left front door

Plus, as you say, parking's a breeze, and you're not opening ya drivers door into traffic.

Gotta watch out for scraping the bottom of the door on the footpath though!

Miles, you dont need one of those gay stickers that say "THIS VEHICLE IS LEFT HAND DRIVE" plastered on the back?

Nah, not on a car that age. I think it's either 25+ or 30+? Can't remember.

I don't have the gay "I GIVE HANDJOBS FOR CRACK" sticker on it either.

Don there's a shedload of dodgies here too. I still don't understand why they used to put a stupid bar across for the brake master cyl instead of getting one that would fit on the right and redoing the brake lines? Idiocy.

Plus it's great to drive up to the lights in the city at night with the top down in summer. Have a conversation with the 3 tipsy hot chicks who just came out of a club and are waiting to cross the road, and are standing not 18 inches from your face.
