I just got home, like right now so forgive me if im tired and half the stuff i type dosent make sense lol

A mate of mine took the soarer for a spin. Im always hesitant to let anybody touch it, but today I have no regrets, as he taught me how to launch it properly..

simply power braking.

after a few runs i grabbed the keys back off him and took the beast for a few runs.
WOW what a difference!

Idling it at 2000-2500RPM the eninge only needed to provide 500-1000 extra rpm for the turbos to fully kick in vs 2500 rpm at idle, which meant turbo lagg was largely reduced and acceleration was greatly boosted.

Ok so now im having more fun with my car, but no matter how much fun power braking is, i wouldnt even use it if it will risk the integrity of my car, I am too fussy to trash my car that way.

the way I see it,
the car is in drive, by revving it wouldnt it wear the transmission / brakes after all more pressure is being applied to the compoments which = more heat and more wear and tear right? or is the oil good enough to keep it cool and prevent damage even under the extra stess?

most of the time I dont rev it over 2000rpm. theres no need to, anything over and wheelspin kicks in which = slower acceleration. could it really be that bad for the engine?

Shouldnt cause any problems now and then.

Brakes wont wear down huge amounts unless you have movement between the disc and the rotor. However im sure the stress would be doing something..

As for the transmission, not too much of an issue here; your torque convertor will be spinning like crazy in its housing and heating up the transmission fluid but thats about it. As long as the fluid doesnt get too hot (possible if you do it a lot) everything should be Fonzy.

Of course, when you have everything locked up like that you are putting strain on the entire drivetrain however not enough to do instant damage.... just avoid sitting there going "OMG LOOK AT MY REVS!" and you should be alright.

Not really worth it for street driving though; what do you gain?

To make you feel better I've done about 20 official launches and many more unofficial were I have brake stalled up to 4400rpm and over 20psi of boost. The problem is heat, and pressure on the oil lines. As long as you can keep the temps down and no lines come flying off due to bad hoses or clamps, then everything should be fine.

As callum said, not really useful on the street, but very useful when drag racing on a proper drag strip.
