It does vary which program you use ive found. Ive had to try a few different programs with a few different settings to come across a combo that worked properly.

From clublexus:
I too have had problems with CDRs in 12 banger as well. Still in testing mode but several things I have tried have improved playability. 1.Recording CD at 1x speed 2. Using the special Music recordable CDR blanks. Had modest success with Memorex. 3. Using Nero Burning CD ROM software.

Some more wisdom from clublexus:
I had the same exact problem w/ CD-Rs in my 92 SC 12-Disc Changer. So, after awhile, I gave up. Months later, I decided to put this cd I just made (after listening to it in my stereo) and it worked perfectly fine. NO SKIPS NO ERRORS. After that, before I put in a CD-R in the changer, I listened to the whole cd first in my stereo AND THEY ALL work now. WEIRD HUH? So, that might be a suggestion. Play it in your STEREO in the living room or what not and then put it in the changer You just need to use GOLD CD-R's
Old CD players do not support the newer blue, silver and green discs.
Well, so far I am able to get two brands to work. One is the Samsung Premium cd's but they seem to be skipping. The other one is Verbatim

All CD stackers should play every good CD burnt and bought.
If you stacker is skipping and not playing correctly then it needs a laser realignment.
Depending on the state of mis alignment this can lead to not playing burnt CDs generally first but will eventually result in not playing any CDs at all.
If you need your stacker repaired you can contact me.

Hi Kyle
I can and have repaired several different DVD players, and heaps of CD players.
The problem lies with testing the units, I have a test set up for soarer stackers. 240V power units ie home stereo are much larger units and there are quick to dismantle and you typically have lots of room to work. They also function as there own test bench.
Aftermarket car stereos are typically not worth repairing due to cost and the ease of replacement. Most fail within warranty or are upgraded to a better unit.

i have done mech alignments in soarer stackers and would not bother doing it again. it is a pain and takes some time to get right. more trial and error and must be done with stacker in the car
