Was ebaying 'soarer' as you do and came across this.
The best Lexus / toyota sc400 soarer in Australia.

Q: Hello, i was wondering who converted this "lexus sc400" to right hand drive? as the lexus SC400 only came out in the usa no where else and thay where all left hand drive cars. and also who put the EMV in this car? as the SC400 doesnt have one from factory only a toyota soarer does. Im i right in saying this is just a TOYOTA SOARER? AND NOT A LEXUS AT ALL ?

A: hello my friend, your obviously a very educated man with just bad eye sight if you look at the following advert i have listed it clearly states that is a toyota soarer which is the same body shape as the sc400 Although the limited had more options than than its counter part. The reason i have listed it with lexus sc400 is that some people search for that as alot of the soarers are rebadged to lexus (as they are exactly the same car). LEXUS actually stands for Luxary EXport to the US and is owned by toyota. As im sure you would like to spend my well earned tax dollars sitting on the dole with your penis in your hand writing me stupid messages, im retired and dont give a •••• as i have plenty of time to burn. |

Well Dean was just asking a simple question to get the correct details about the car. And to get that sort of reply, it doesn't say much for the seller does it. |

If you read again you will find it was not Dean who asked the question. He simply posted the question and answer.
I deduce this not least from the fact that Dean explicitly complimented the responder for his answer to the dickhead smartarse question; as would I.
I thought the response could have been better expressed though. |

I agree it was a bit of a smartarse question, but if you're selling something with the wrong details, then it doesn't help the buyer when trying to work out what the car is.
As i'm sure you would want to know the correct details on what the car you are buying is.
The average joe would have no idea if it were a Toyota or Lexus.
You have made me think a bit more, not sure which side i am on now. lol |

Davis was right, I was commenting on how the seller of the car owned the stupid question that other guy posted. The question wasn't posted in interest in buying the car, but to mock the seller (well i thought) and the seller had a kick ass reply haha. |

The average joe would indeed have no idea if it were a Toyota or a Lexus which is one reason posting it as a Lexus is a fair and reasonable thing to do. That is how it is badged so it would be still more confusing to call it a Toyota, yet he included Toyota in the auction title showing he knew what it was underneath.
I agree a bit that the response was in itself a bit of a wank. It is the seller's option to publish the question and reply, or to keep them private. While sympathising with the response, I would have made it privately. |

I think the only reason he put both names in the description is so people could find the car when searching. Ebay's search system sucks.
I don't think the average joe would be searching ebay for a soarer or sc400 without knowing a little about the car first. |

When is a Soarer a Lexus and when is a SC400 a Soarer ? It's the same car with different badging.
How many of you have a SC400 badge on the back.
I call my car the 'lexus' at home as it sound better to the wife, soarer mostly elsewhere as most people know what a soarer is, but have no idea what a SC400 is.
That thing with the ricey wheels would not be the best 'whatever' around though, that's for sure |

IMO the first guy asked a question he obviously knew the answer, trying to flex his muscles of knowledge, lol, with no intentions of buying at all, trying to own the seller. Well researched Jan. The mobile number of the seller matches Daniel Hounslow, the MD.
We did not start off being hard on him James. His only subsequent mistake has been to list a rear spoiler when it does not have one, and to keep being rude after the circumstances for it had gone. I personally hold no animus toward his sale.
His car has all of the other options listed. I asked him and got a polite reply. |

its a uz31 with active suspension, same as the toyota supra, the air bag and hydrolic where both considered active, thanks for you opinion. |

It could qualify as "active" in that it reacts to different loads, eg adjusting when heavy people get into the car. |
