Hi guys,

Just discovered this button inside the centre console, no idea what it does. It has no markings, and pressing it on and off seems to do nothing. Can anyone shed some light onto what this might be for?

My Soarer caught on fire last time I pushed that button .

Haha nah seriously, well in my car anyways it turns on and off the radio signal.

Don't know why its there dosen't really come in handy.

I had one of those also, its connected to a FM Band Expander i think.

Mine was not in use as i had an aftermarket job so i ripped it out. I now have my iPOD / Headset interface cable running through the hole. Very handy indeed !

Thanks for the quick replies guys, i didn't try it with the radio on, ill see if it turns the signal on and off.

Don't worry, the guy I bought it off already explained what the red button does... something about releasing an oil slick?

Nah thats not the same one, for starters I don't have EMV (unfortunately). The one in my centre console is a single white pushbutton.

Tried pushing it on and off when the radio is on, made no noticeable difference. The mystery continues!

it plugs into an aerial thingo for the stereo !!

It has the same connections and everything as the stocko stereo aerial input thingo ma jigga..

Just pull your cup holder out and the shifter surround and follow the wire till you find it.
