I noticed a drip of coolant under the car today, which I'm sot sure if its spillage or if its leaking somewhere,

Check the rubber seal ring on the radiator tap if the drip was anywhere near there.

Dan

The gas struts for the boot can be refurbished/recharged for around $50 the pair with excellent results. I would do the bonnet struts at the same time, they usually start to go about 2 years after the boot struts.

Yes, I have really enjoyed this thread. It will also be great help for any future '32 owners.

Good job.

Yeah, I got the old crapheap going, I must hurry and get the soarer going so I dont have to deal with s**tbox falcons anymore.
Juzza, I"d love to come down to the island, it's been ages since I've raced, but unfortunately half my suspension is at Vlam's place which means that it's not here. I could bring the old falcon but I don't think I would enjoy it very much.

Well. I got my baby running tonight. Never missed a beat. Warmed her up to temp. I had 'active off', 'active susp', 'ABS', 'TRC', '4WS', 'Fuel', warnings flashing and bleeping madly, because there is still so much stuff disconnected.
Anyway, she ran good, no leaks, no funny noises, no strange vibrations, nuthin unusual.
So, I'm Elated. Put some oil flush in and drained the oil and changed the filter,
On the weekend I should be able to flush the pwr steering fluid, and hopefully the hydraulic fluid.
Sorry, no pics this time as flat batteries prevailed.
Still waiting on vlam to send me down the strut mount bushes, They should be here hopefully next week or so, and then put the rest of the suspension back in and put her on the floor.
So very slowly it's all coming together for me.

Good news. I should have my baby on wheels in the next couple of weeks.
I put the top halves of all the struts back in today, Will gas up the bottom halves and re fit them next week.
The strut attach bushes are on the way dow from Andrew, so I can fit them as soon as I get them. After that I can finish putting all the suspension back in, finish flushing and bleeding the hydraulics, refit the front bar. Finish cleaning and re assembling the headlights.
After that it will be down to the mechanics for a roady, and then into a paintshop for some minor touch ups, then reg and insurance, and then to see what this supposed Active smile is all about.

Well. More progress is happening. I've given notice at work to become a fulltime soarer engineer. (Until I run out of money and have to go and get a new job).
I recharged and fitted my front lower strut halves. So now I have 'as new' front struts.
I'll put up some pics when I download my phone.
Its looking likely that I'll get it back on wheels this weekend.
I just have to pull my finger out and get my headlights finished instead of playing on this bloody forum.
I'm getting the Active Smile already.

OK guys. I don't know if you missed me or even if you care.
The point is, the last week or so has been big for me. I finished up at my job.
All the bits I was waiting on for my active arrived. I have been beavering away in the hangar every night till 1-2, spannering and whacking bits back together.

I got the last bushes for my suspension and put them in. Put all the suspension back in.
Re gassed the nitrogen in the struts. Re fitted the struts and all the new bump stops and boots.
After that I put it down on the ground and had me some fun bleeding all the suspension and getting it right. I've been through 10 cans of susp fluid so far.
Once all that was done it was time to fix some brake light wiring, done.
Had some fun driving it around the hangar.
Then it was time to fit my freshly cleaned, polished, resealed headlights. The front bar.
I got some 50 watt globes for the turning lights as I couldn't find any 35 watt ones and 21 watt is just too dim.

I then bled and flushed the brakes, and did a rough wheel alignment.
Checked everything for leaks, it seems ok at the moment.
So tomorrow its off for a roady and rego. A wheel alignment and hopefully I can get it to a painter for some touchups and then I'll be soaring.
I found a couple of problems with the 4ws setup which I'll work through and get sorted.
Then a couple of other minor things to play with when time permits (I'll have plenty of that now that I'm unemployed)

So finally this little saga is coming to an end.
I hope it has all been worth it.
Stay tuned, tomorrow I will resize some pics and post them up, and I'll let you know how it drives.
Till then, Thanx for reading. :-)
