Hello chaps.
My car is really draining me (emotionally and in the wallet)
Just when i fix something, something else goes wrong... example
The other day my interior light was working. yesterday opened the door. dead interior light.
I know all my headlights were working coz i check them pretty often but guess what. last night my front right parkers are dead! ??? so then i looked around the car and noticed one of the number plate lights dead! sigh...
and to top it all off this morning my car no longer cold idles it just idles normally. Idle stepper motor is gone! sigh......
what else next week my engine will blow up! I keep my car is top condition but it's just too much now..

Gary, that's nothing! I'd hate to see your reaction when the 1J drops out of the engine bay, which is very common in Soarers with these symptoms you speak of.
Maybe its an electrical problem you need to have checked out thats shorting out all your globes.
Idle control valve just needs a good clean, otherwise second hand replacement, nothing major.

Holy crap...Problem with me is I tend to keep my cars. Unless something major happens like..
Someone writes it off I write it off It gets stolen.
So im stuck with it. If something major like that would happen to me. Id just leave it in the garage for ages (pissed off at it) then after a few month convince myself to fix it.

After spending 12k on repairs in 2 years, I had enough lol It was my only car at the time, and I drive 200km to work and back, and the local train station is 6km away.
So, I had to get a good reliable, cheap to run yet still have a bit of zing daily car and the Mazda 3 SP23 6 Speed Black on Black stole my heart haha. As soon as I saw it on the showroom floor, I said "I want that!" the following day I drove it home.
I test drove the new Golf, Focus, Fiesta and WRX.
The SP23 was by far superior to all of the above in build quality and general fun to drive. don't get me wrong, the WRX was quick, but it felt very cheap...
but to get back on topic, having to change a few lights is nothing to think your car is cursed, Just replace them with LED's and you shouldn't have an issue for another 10,000hours or so
The Mazda 3 is a good car. My fiance has one and it's fun to drive, very quick and great through the hills. It's not even the SP23, just a normal one but still fun. Having said that, I do prefer my V8....
