Has anyone had success in fitting baby/child seats in a Soarer?

Our first child is due in October and whilst the missus's Corolla will be fine, I'm wondering how easy it is to use a baby seat in the Soarer.

I'm keen to know if anyone has used the front seat? Kids have to face backwards for the first six months and I'm expecting it will be tricky to get him in the back seat facing backwards.

Yeah mate, it fits no worries, i've had my soarer as a daily driver with a seat from newborn and he's now 5 months and we've turned it around so he is facing forward now, put it behind passenger seat, you just can't put the passenger seat back as far...

Absolutely no problems.

We have had three different seats in the Soarer over the last six years. The best by far was this one that swivels on a base when you get kids in/out. I can find out the details if you need me to.

Definitely the passenger side. Safer and so much easier to just step on the pedal when you have a sleeping baby in your arms.

Thank-you both.

Saved me from starting a thread titled "Which car would be a good replacement for a Soarer now I have kids?"

Ben, if you can remember the name of the swivel seat it would be helpful. The "Turn-A-Tot" seems to be the main one that swivels and I had thought about that one to make things easier.

I had concerns that the bucket seats in the back would make it difficult. Did you have to put any padding underneath the baby seat to get it to sit properly?

Steve I got a seat that ranged from baby to toddler and my boy is still in it. It fits fine into the bucket with no padding needed. Although it has left an indent in the back seats. Im not sure if this comes out as Ive mostly left the seat in. My boy is 3 and a bit now and has been in the seat since around 8 months. The only problem is the little bugger keeps kicking the passenger seat and the console. On the positive its a safe solid car and easy to get kids in and out of the back.

"Turn-A-Tot"

Thats the one. I have no idea how much they are/were but it is still going strong for us.

The three seats I have fitted all worked OK. One of them has hard edges and has marked the seat. (This is another good thing about the turn a tot as it has a blow moulded type base that did not rub/wear on the seat.) I figure that spruce interiors are a dime a dozen, once the kids are a bit older I'll just replace the seat base.

One thing I will say is we have not found a good booster seat for my 6y.o. that suits the Soarer. The styrofoam ones all leave no gap for his legs, and the little plastic seat he has means he cant see out the window.
