I know mine were put on during compliance, and same place near the speakers.

Yep, behind the rear headrests near the speakers. Had a baby seat in there without any dramas. Only when she got older - she kept kicking the driver's seat. The passenger's side was for her older sister.

They are SUPPOSED to be installed when the car is complied.

Thanks for the reply! I had a look there on the weekend but couldnt seem to see anything. Im assuming I have to remove the parcel shelf to get to the point mentioned. If that is the case, do i remove the back seat to remove the parcel shelf?

Brett, ours was a Private Import and didn't have them fitted. The rego inspector said I had to have them, then the mechanic here who inspected said he didn't care whether fitted ot not. The upshot is though that you have to have them fitted by a licenced person (the fitter put a sticker under our bonnet- they mainly do extra seats and the like).

I'd therefore advise not to do it yourself. It was a pretty fiddley job.
