i have a good record, i'm an old man at 37, have a 60% ncb etc. even factoring in all the above, suncorp wanted $4k! cant comprehend that figure on a 10K car.
just car wanted $985 (which i'm happy with) but they don't allow monthly payments. so that's out...
maybe, i can get shannons to do a limited use policy ? i really only drive three days a week anyway.
guess ill see what happens in the morning.

Paying 968 a year for fully comp. I pay monthly at for NO extra. My car is insured for 16K and i get 1st option to buy back the wreck. ALL my mods have been listed.

Looks like i got the sweetest deal on soarercentral haha. Ive had bit hp cars before but they were track/drift cars and got Cams license and all. Justcars wanted $2200 premium and $2500 excess, rang up Shannons and they wouldnt even touch me even with CAMS licence and all. Rang up pretty much every insurance company under the sun and the sticking point was that im 21 years old. Rang up h2p told them all my mods of my new car blah blah blah and got it for $650 premium per year with monthly payments and $700 excess. I couldnt believe it and got a quotation number and sussed it out the next day. Im still smiling from ear to ear especially when i wanted 19K agreed value to which they said they only go by the book. So i told the guy i'd be happy with 15K at the least and he came back after having a look at the market value and said it was 21K, can you guys say CHEERING haha
Not sure what they are like now but they used to trade under a different name but then they joined with Young & Cool and another specialist car insurer to create Famous.
Back in the day they gave good quotes but there customer service, skills and knowledge were lacking.

Just switched over to shannons.
$1300/year (paid by the month, no extra) $15k agreed value $500 excess 25 with rating 1, parked in a lockup garage (apparently a big one with shannons).
Guy said that V8's are in a lower category than TT's.

i'm with shannons and pay around $85/month,used to be with just car insurance but they only do pay by the month after being with them for a year but were still $400 more than shannons. shannons also have cheap house contents insurance too

Thats odd Jason, I'm with Shannons. they asked about club. i said no,but mentioned soarer central which they seemed happy with. Maybe you just got dud operator having bad day.

could also be that you have the V8, as they seem to dislike the TT.... i mentioned this and other forums that i'm a member of, and that didn't hold any sway either.
that's twice shannons has jerked me about. i had a 2006 Yamaha FJR1300 ($27,000 worth) that they didn't wanna insure, because i rode it every day !
just got the best quote so far from LSV. i'm in the process of gathering funds now, so i can pay for the insurance.
I pay $1600 through Just Car valued at $22000 (last time I checked the papers anyway) + mods covered. Mind you, being an under 25 male in Sydney does add to the premium
