first time i went to court there were no court costs to be paid, just a big fine... the second time i went i think it was about $80 or so dollars in court costs, and another big fine

i wont post up what i did, but it was what you got done for plus about 4 other offences
its a good idea to get a lawyer, take family members, dress in a nice shirt and tie to let the judge know youre taking the matter seriously.
you will most likely get a big fine, and maybe a conviction, and ill let you know that driving unlicenced a 2nd time is mandatory sentencing. i managed to get away with it, but i DEFINATELY wouldnt advise it.

Yes, i also learned the hard way of road traffic (and some other) offenses....not advisable. About to go through it all again and I feel like such an immature tool! Easier to just be a little sensible these days.....
What Ryan says is right....get a haircut also, Character references go a long way if you know someone that will write one for you. And that does not mean you mate from footy! Someone preferably in senior years to you with some standing in the community that will say how much of a wonderful person you are and how they are so surprised at this happening because you are always such a sensible mature young man...yada yada.....
If you really want to help yourself, start seeing a psych or similar to help you 'understand why you were behaving in a careless and self destructive manner' so you can work through it so as not to re-offend bla, bla. They can also write fantastic, rather impacting reports for the magistrate if they see your worth it.....um they're not cheap though.......
Depending on your financial status you can go to legal aid and they will direct you a little and pay all or most of your legal fees. Don't just turn up on the day and use the overworked, probly underpaid, and distracted court appointed bloke.
I'm in Vic too and have the number of the woman I use when I have been to court always done well for me, and I'm using her again for August....if you want her number PM me.... Good luck..

Be careful guys.. My bf just got out a a prison farm for driving with no license. He thought he would get another large fine. But was sentenced to 6 months. So please be careful and get yourself a GOOD lawyer.

i have just finished 12 months for doing a burnout. my brother did 6 months because his P plate had fallen onto the parcel shelf rather than being displayed in his back window.
yet a little old lady pulled directly out in front of me the other night and "BANG" i plowed into her causing damage to both cars and minor damage to herself, but i bet she will still keep her licence.
i read on the news the other day some old man lost control of his car along a perfectly straight road running into a bus stop majorly injuring 4 people, yet, im sure he would still have his license.
the system is completely ridiculous as far as im concerned.

man it was sick.
and what made it worse was the cops rolled up directly behind me after there was a massive cloud of smoke, so i couldnt see them and just kept going. haha. then the female officer got out and complimented me on it too

The system really is ridiculous. Can't a bloke even do a burnout on a public street in front of a cop without getting busted? What is worse, they lock you up just because you have previous form and yet another offence. No justice, I say. After all, it is not as if removing yourselves from the gene pool would do the country any harm
