Hey all going through defect very soon and just want to neaten up the seatbelts so the inspectors dont have any issues what so ever. I can obviously cut off all the fluffy residue on the side but is there anything else i can do to neaten them up like putting some sort of glue on the sides? I have no idea so thats why im here :-)

Cheers

Dave

Also if anyone could tell me how to insert the rear seat belt surround so they stay put that would be awesome. They have two clips on the actual surround but none in the lower part of the rear seat so they dont hold onto anything and its pissing me off already after a whole 5 mins haha

they wont clip in because they have compliance seat belts that have been replaced (not original toyota ones) and personally i would get new front belts. you don't want dodgy belts in a crash.

Yeah i know thats the reason why its a defect as in a crash they might tear equalling your head lodged somewhere between the dash cluster and the steering wheel. Mine are fine otherwise i would have bought some new ones but the current ones are fine they just have some flush and thats about it. The integrity of the material is still there so during a crash nothing wont happen however SA is know for having stupid reasons for having to go for re inspections after a full inspection so i want evertyhing looking and functioning 110%

The neatest way to clean the frayed edge is with a cigarette lighter, up in smoke!!

Keep in mind that any good car parts outlets can get replacement seat belts for about $70.00, Google Klippan and see what comes up?

far out david, get some new belts man! ha. mine are pretty old and the driver side only retracts when it feels like it but the belts themselves look ok. How old are these bits of cloth saving you from oblivion?
