Hey, i've noticed with my car that it changes into second extremely quick. Even if i'm at a T intersection and give it full throttle when turning, it will have changed into second even before i've straightened up. Is this normal? I've already reset the ECU, so is there anything else i can do?
Cheers Sean

They do change pretty quick, but not usually under full throttle. But doing it while turning, your inside wheel is probably spinning.

Try it in a straight line.

Occasionally it will spin but nine times out of ten it will have changed into second before it has a chance to. Or it will spin for half a second before it changes gear then stop. I suppose this will be a good thing in the long run, just kind of annoying.

Just a thought, flooring it while turning at a T junction is really asking for trouble. If the car slides, you lose the back end and end up either in someone's yard or in oncoming traffic.

Always get the car relatively straight first to minimise the chance of losing control.

Do you have TRC?

Have you tried it with the ECT switch on Power, it should hold the gear a bit longer, I would also check the tension on the line pressure cable.

around a week ago, i nearly found this out the hard way, the car lost control so quickly, by the time i hit the brake, i already spun 180 degrees, and slide side-ways towards the footpath, and just (and i mean -just') avoided collecting both my axles (i was probably 5 cm away from the kerb).... it was probably funny for anyone watching, as i now was facing the traffic in the opposite direction :-) but it wasnt funny as i learnt that abs doesnt work if your sliding sideways towards a kerb... :-(

i found my auto changed up through the gears quicker when i tightened up my "line pressure cable" or whatever its called.

Doesnt kick down as quickly now though, as in i really have to FLOOR it to make it drop a gear.

I tightened it to hopefully preserve my AUTO for a while longer.

Yes, i do have TRC but it's not always on.
Usually if i get sideways i just hold it for a bit then straighten up. I don't think i've ever 'lost control'. This isn't something i frequently do, i'm still getting to know the car as i only got it 2-3 weeks ago so i'm just seeing what she can do.

I tightened the throttle cable recently, but i thought that might make things better.

Power is always on also.

I don't have LSD so unless it's wet i've really gotta push it to go sideways.

I'm not saying i'm the best driver in Oz, but getting sideways in the dry seems pretty straight forward under 80kmph.

only way out is to starihten up, back off the accelerator, then mash it to the floor for a kickdown.... or just...
get a suprastick (if compatable) or a shift box from Cameron, then you can manually shift your auto with ease :-)

If you have Power=on and flick the gear lever to 2nd, then it will go to 2nd right away, not wait until the revs are up.

Try with Power=Off, some people prefer it, and it doesn't make any difference at WOT (Wide Open Throttle).

Yer, ive been in the same situation. Its like you hit a certain point and the back end just flicks out and you spin, even worse in the wet. Learnt the hard way that abs and trc doesnt keep me straight haha.
