I have recently moved to Buderim and havn't found a nearby service station that sells 98 ron fuel so I just filled up with 94-95 ron fuel. I could feel the lack of punch immediately. So a couple of days ago I filled with the premium 98 and even with a full tank the car was more gutsy straight away. Who would have thought there was so much difference in the two fuels?

Until recently we couldn't get 98 locally and we noticed the difference, particularly in fuel economy. We mainly cruise up here so outright performance didn't seem that much different.

Yeah when i first got my Soarer i didnt know for two tanks that Caltex premium was only 95 RON and the amount or lack there of mileage was incredible. I would get around 300-400kms from a tank driving like a grandma.

I used it extensively in my Subaru with no ill effects (Bogas) when I lived on the east coast. Apparently there is none in WA fuel so can't comment on its efficacy in the Soarer. I'd happily use E95 if it were available.
