Hey guys, Only had my Soarer a few days and it has that air bag suspension. I thought having that may give it lousy handling, that and the fact they are heavy cars, but I took it through "Chain of Ponds" yesterday in SA, Some would of heard of it, and was very impressed how well the Soarers handle!! And my last car was an R33 Skyline with adjustable Nismo suspension and at least 200kg lighter, not to mention 8,000 bucks more expensive, but found the Soarer to be very similar in cornering abilities. How is that possible??

Good design. An airbag V8 still holds the record at Phillip Island as far as I know.

Record in overall time? or record for a Soarer at Philip Island?

For a Soarer. Chances are that some car classes eg V8 Supercars might be a bit faster. :-)

Isn't it an active which holds the soarer record? That would explain it.

i found it very controllable, sheer cornering speed is dedicated by physics, but i only ever lost it once going around wakefeild, very easy to drive hard.

The only people who say airbags have lousy handling are those who have only driven one in poor condition, havnt driven one at all or are comparing them to a Lotus or something

With TEMS Sport and/or the trackday mod they are as good if not better than any factory coil setup on an equivalent road car imo

I'd agree, I toss mine round corners and she loves it, get quite good exiting speeds.

Nope, Justin Hughes in a UZZ31 was faster than Peter Scott's UZZ32 and any of the TT's.

So you think that may have been a weight saving?

Well there is a lot of stuff to take out of a '31. Perhaps it was weight. Or mad driving skills!

Hmmm when the system works like new Im sure its great.

But unless you have a few grand to get new bags etc and freshen the Air system up it's quite nasty on a early model.

My air system is all gone so essentially mine is now a well option UZZ30! :-)
