for my crappy car!

as far as u all know, the car was great when i bought it, but due to old age etc, its worn out!

apart from about 50 problems i have with, last night when i shut the door the whole drivers side decided it wanted to pull out so now i need a drivers trim :-( dammit, also being made redundant cause the economy is rooted, i have no job or money to pay :-( worst luck in the work EVER!!
anyone got any sympathy parts?
JOKING =)

you can fix that trim with a metal strip over the broken bit and screw that into place. its usually the plastic broken just before the screw.

saves getting complete new door trim

Normally I would suggest selling it or parting it out and starting again, but then the people who use your parts are at risk of being under "The Curse of Ty's Car".

So some sort of ritualistic ceremony seems fitting, where we torch the car so the curse can be broken.

yup... the ol "get what you paid for" problem comes back to haunt.
Sad really, thats why i didnt feel like an ass asking for 14500 for my Soarer... even if it didnt have the single conversion i still would have asked 11000 easy. Its just not worth the drama buying sh1tty clapped out Soarers hey.
Kinda makes me sad to see the state some of them are in.
I guess the P- plate laws here in QLD are a good thing as it keeps the young punks who trash cars out of them (well mostly anyways)

When i was looking for a Soarer many years ago i found that the ones owned by Asians were heaps worse in condition when compared to others... weird huh ?
I spose the best thing to do is to buy from someone who is a genuine enthusiast and has actually LOVED his/her car instead of just using it to get around. They are worth the extra dollars for sure.

*oooops.... kinda got carried away haha*

Ty... join the club.

I too would take great pleasure in lovingly massaging a generous coating of diesel over my treasured soarer before drying her off with the flick of a zippo

but I just cant afford to.

Broke if I keep her and keep pouring money into her

Broke and walking if I do the above

Or buying a VN commodore if I sell it... which is about all its worth... and thats neither a step forward nor backwards.. just 2 extra doors.

I think I might start a facebook group :-)

hahaha

Ty,
Are you sure your car is a Soarer and not a Skyline?
Sell it and start again. Or keep it and just walk everywhere!

Your car gives Soarers a bad name , This is probably the only time I would advise to change the Toyota badges to Lexus.

Metal bracket and a few screws from Bunnings will fix your trim man. I had the same problem years ago. Was a $3 fix that took 30 min.

Its possible the plastic behind the skin has cracked as well. Get it all off carefully and fill the back side up with glue/steel
