| I was just reading an article about the top secret v12 powered supra, they likened the 1gz to two 1JZ-GTE engines strapped together with a combined crank and it got me thinking... How feasible is something like this, strapping two 1jz heads together? Not that I’m considering it, I’m just curious. I don’t know a lot about engines and so on, but I know a little. I guess some of the things you would need to take into consideration are that you’d need a custom crank and block? Revise the head design so that the exhaust and intake cams/ports are reversed so that you have a central intake plenum chamber and outward facing exhaust manifolds. Obvious there would be issues with space but just say this isn’t limited to a Soarer engine bay. What are your thoughts on this concept? I know anything is possible with moneys! But is this idea even close to feasible for the average person? Any issues u would encounter? Here’s a little render I did because it’s Friday night and I’m bored at home.

| why 1jz? 2jz's would be better i assume? would have to be pretty custom, so i dont know if you would still call em 2x 2jz's. anyway, 4x turbos |

| Yeah i guess you could, but then i'm not certain if the exhaust manifolds would work with a revised head. But if it's custom enough, i don't see why not. But you're right, quad-turbo v12! I guess this all about being different. I wander what kind of performance you would get with something like this. |

| 2jz with high boost can push well over 1000bhp. im sure u could get that with pretty low boost on a v12. |

| Bit of oxy and an electric welder. No problems. I've got about 25 years left, maybe I could help you out. |

| i would think designing and casting your own block in the backyard would probably be about a 7-8 hour job could strech out to 12 hours if you run into any problems . matchy you are either a pioneer or just clinicly insane but if i come across millions of dollars one day ill fund this engine and put it in a mini

| I love DIY, but this is going waaaaay to far. You would really be creating a whole complete new engine from scratch, based on some stuff you like about the 1J. Almost nothing would carry across, save maybe the pistons. Then there would be all the harmonics, getting the correct angle for the vee, firing order etc. Love the idea, but you are some what insane... |

| Would it be less of a challenge to mount them one behind the other like a straight 12? Probably too long then for most applications... I like the way your thinking. The Veyron is a W16 quad turbo, so someone get cracking with two 1UZs and see what you can do.

| And for the record, that V12 supra made over 1000hp, not 542 like that article says. Just about every part in it was custom designed by Mr.Smokey himself and was running 2 F-Con V's. |

| These guys liked their motorcycle engines cylinder head arrangement so much, that they went made a 2.8L v8 out of a pair of 1300cc 'busa motors. Took em 4 years. They are an engineering company of course, but ,Yeah, it can be done: http://www.h1v8.com/page/page/1562068.htm 2.8L V8 Quad cam 400HP 10,000 RPM (!) Dam thing only weighs about 110kg!! |
