Does anyone have a squeaky dash? When it's cold all I can hear when I go over the slightest little bump, is the dash squeaking or jittering. Whatever it is, it's annoying.

Obviously it's only doing it coz it's so cold ATM, but I wanted to know if anyone knows a way to fix it? I thought about removing it and lining the edges with a thin foam, but i'm not sure if it's the edges that are causing the brittle, jittering noise.

Any ideas?

is it the dash or emv? emv is more common. if its the emv you should remove it and check the two long screws holding it to the metal frame are present and tight.

You could try spraying furniture polish into all the cracks and wiping away the excess. Worked for me.

Open up your centre console. I found I had missed a few screws when putting it back together, hence the squeaking.

Is there any movement when you jiggle your centre console?

Thanks for the reply's.

I'm fairly certain it's the dash, as when I firmly put my hand on it, the noises stop.

Mike, what cracks do you mean? I don't have any cracks in the dash.

No movement when I jiggle it. I don't think so anyway, i'll check tomorrow. I've never taken it apart, but maybe there could be a screw or two missing?

Then why does no-one else share the same noise???
This isn't your average 14 year old car noise.

Sean, I mean the cracks between everything. The timber trim, the vents etc. Anywhere that two surfaces meet.

Yes Mike, that is what I think it is. I will try what you stated earlier.
