| I dont know i must be gettin to old. i always thought skid marks were what u left in your undies if you hadnt wiped your arse well enough, and skids were the marks you left on the road when you locked up your brakes. Guess every generation has a new name for things |

| I presume by Skid, which means to stop, you actual mean to accelerate and purposefully loose traction? I guess a lot of training is required for such a heroic feat. Matt Sartori (Klutch) " I've never come across an enthusiast forum that looks down on someone having a bit of fun. " You're 18 .. wow, you've obviously got a lot of life experience behind you there. You been in many car accidents yet? |

| Anybody else think its a bit ironic that so many Soarer owners on this forum are such kill-joys? I mean, if exuberant driving annoys/upsets/scares you then why the hell would you go out and buy a twin-turbo charged (or V8) rear-wheel drive coupe..? |

No accidents, yet. Plenty of curb mountings and one or two close calls though ^.^ (wasn't driving these times, mind you) Ahhh, the stories i could tell you old folk. Its beautiful being young and stupid

You may be confused to which car you own But seriously for a second: One reason i chose a soarer in the end was a responsible forum. No I'm not actually kidding here, have you seen boostcruising? Have you seen SAU? Have you seen S1? Not seriously though, this thread was made like 6 months ago the OP doesn't really deserve any more grief for leaving some rubber on the road. Sure its a touch irresponsible but honestly except for the gloating it's not like we've never been there ourselves. |

Heh. Personally, I own the dirt cheap alternative to the Supra thats about as luxurious as the Corolla I drive day-to-day.. |

| Matt .. you don't understand. How can you, you're just a dumb punk kid. I was too at your age. Wait until you wrap your car around a tree and you'll mature up. You ask any of us "old blokes" and you'll see we went through the same stuff as you.. sure we found it fun to do BURN OUTS, we found it fun to drift a corner. Of course when we end up smashing up our cars, hurting ourselves, strangers, people we loved our tunes changed pretty quickly. It don't matter what I say, you'll do what you please cos "You're a great driver" and you "know your car really well" Just trying to save you from the pain I went through from being a dumb Your choice if you listen or not.. but don't you come in here with you childish BS about hooning around cos myself and like minded will put you in your place every time. We are trying to save you from yourself. And before you say "it won't happen to me" i assure you it will happen to you. It happens to everyone whether they are tempting fate or not. |

| It's all about maturity. I'm far more sensible than the majority of people my age when I comes to car driving behaviour. At the end of the day, take it to the track! If you can't afford it, then you shouldn't be playing with cars.

| As Jol points out Matt, we have already been there and done that, and you have no stories to tell us that we haven't already lived through ourselves. But yeah, I guess we should also know that there is no point in lecturing, 'cause the only way kids learn is the hard way. |

| Yep. I spose whe I was his age and some one said .. Dude you're gonna seriously hurt yourself or someone else I would have shrugged it off and said "never!" I think though as "the older generation" we would be totally remiss if we didn't at least try and educate them. Yes I work for Victoria Police. I am not a sworn member. Whether I worked for VicPol or not my message would be the same. Mike B, you've got 3 years on Matt: You've had three more years of close calls, wet roads, other dangerous drivers. Matt: The irony is driving is that single biggest boost in your driving exerience and skill will come from the first time you write off a car. And you will.. I just hope you're traveling sub 40K's when you do. |

But tempting fate is fun. Nothing like that adrenaline rush.
