I'm getting an error warning in Jap that only comes on during hard acceleration. It flashes on and makes a tone but it's way too fast for me to catch it. I noticed that the park brake light comes on in conjunction with it.

Any ideas?

I had that hand brake warning light error as well. Only during hard acceleration - usually when I took my foot off the pedal.

Can't remember exactly what it was...try to search for it because I did discuss it in the mechanical section. I know I had to have my cam angle sensor replaced...probably was for that error. Cant remember exactly.

Definately try searching though.

Mine just started coming on and off during hard acceleration and also when i was braking not sure if its the same problem you have Dale but all it was, was a low brake fluid warning. I topped it up and presto! no more handbrake warning light.

It's not traction control failing or something is it?

It could be the switch in the handbrake mechanism being too tight a tolerance....happened with my '94 3 litre

Well I just went out tonight with topped up fluid. Couldn't make it happen just by driving. But after doing a full launch with hand brake, it came on.

It's the hand brake, if I don't fully push it down after the launch I get the error, and I'm talking like 5mm of play.

Undo the level sensor plug from the master cylinder and leave it off. That was the only way I could fix mine. As long as you regularly check the fluid level it wont be a problem
