As soon as mine is running, it will be having an "Interested?" sticker with my number put on it... if it gets a good offer, awesome... if not, I will enjoy it until such time as I get sick of it

my 1st car was 35 years old at the time and it was a daily drove it everywhere did thousands of miles...
with many issues!
sell now and buy a new car, drop 30k on a new car and in 10 years buy another newbie... or do as im going to do and keep the bastard going... in reality parts for the soarer cost stuff all considering its an import and not sold new here..
you have a 1991 model so would owning a 1998 model settle your nerves? i've seen newer ones than mine in worse condition...
from what i've seen on the forums here people who have sold have brought again or want to...
just keep it dude

Wow Brett,m so slow someones gotta help push it along ? Hehehe
Cars will last as long as you maintain them properly . People always put 5h1t on taxis, but heaps of those Ef-EL falcons ended up with over 500,000km's and still going . Mostly on the stock engine, but had replaced gearboxes along the way .
If you still enjoy it, keep it. I plan on keeping mine for a while thats for sure. I mean, what other car is going to give decent fuel economy , be a great daily driver , reliability and run 11 second 1/4's on pump fuel ???

Albeit very slowly. Hope you don't mind my correction Brett. I recently had the opportunity to sell mine at a very reasonable price, but I changed my mind when I thought about 'what next?' Of course it was going to cost a considerable sum to buy something else worthwhile, and I wasn't sure if I would be as happy as I presently am with what I have.

i absolutely love my car. every time you get in it, it really does put a smile on your face. even with a "underpowered v8" i still have plenty of fun in my car. it looks good sounds good and feels good. its fun to drive. i wouldnt sell it unless i was getting a ridiculous amount for it, with which i would by a late model one anyway :p

Well, I've had my current Soarer 4 years now, and since I only paid $7k for it, and it's cost me bugger all other than regular maintenance, I figure it owes me nothing, so I'll keep driving it.

just can't find a better car for the money
There's the kicker. I have been looking around for a new car as the wife is about to drop child and the Soarer just doesn't fit with the lifestyle change. The problem is, there is just nothing available on the market (for the same sort of money) that has the same build quality, reliability and mostly comfort level that the Soarer does. To get something with a full leather interior, all the gadgets etc you need to be looking in the $35k range which is out of the question for me. I guess I'll just have to keep the Soarer and swap cars with wife whenever I need to take kid somewhere.
Brett, as for your 11 minute car, maybe you should drop a 1JZ or 1UZ in there?? LOL

Works for us - my wife has a '99 P11 Primera wagon that serves as the family taxi. I hate driving it any distance but its cheap to run and easy to work on, and safe for the little fella, and I get to keep the Soarer for the long distance commuting I do.

My lad is ten months old now and he's been in the Soarer with me a lot. The two important things are (1) get a car seat that swivels so you can get him in easily and (2) make sure your buggy fits in the boot. My missus has a Corolla but I'll always take the Soarer.

I'm doing my best to convince SWMBO that I should keep the car, but as she's in the last few weeks of pregnancy her tolerance, sense of humour, good nature etc are all in very short supply! I'm sure a lot of you know what I mean.
At present we only have the one baby seat which is being installed in her car tomorrow.
