No expert, but I reckon it is a blow off valve.

Its either a BOV or a Blocking device . As its mounted on the boosted pipework .

a blocking device? is that a good thing or a bad thing?... so if i was to attach a bow off valve would i take the thing off and attach a blower?

Its a bad thing, it is put there so that your car would make a fullyhecticksickkiller sounds. It works by not letting air vent back into the system, just surging it back through the turbo compressor which make the turbo stall. Not a good thing, i say you should fit a stock or aftermarket plumb back BOV to your car. My two cents.

Its a blocking device.

Normally the factory recirculating blow off valve is in that position.

By the looks, it has been removed and the lines blocked to retain pressure.

Check the rest of the induction lines between the turbos and the intake manifold, there may be another blow off valve thats been installed elsewhere along the line (explaining the removal of the factory item) chances are you'd know if it had one installed thought

If not, get one put in, as your car will most likey be lagging like crazy between gears as the turbos will be fighting from lower rpm against the pressure still inside the intake and piping, as there is no way to release it.

Hope that makes sense

Wouldn't the stock one be sufficient for this? I can understand an aftermarket one if you're pushing big boost but I'm not sure if there are massive gains to be had other than for wank factor.

it sounds like a normal blow off valve.. does not sound a compression surge

apart from the stainless intake pipe i put in myself.. everything else is factory plastic etc...

so do i take the blockin device out and plug the pipe back into the stock blow off vavle?...

it would explain the gear shifts it does sound a little wierd in the exhaust it sounds like air get forced out through the exhaust, and it does lag a litle bit in between gears...

is there any type of blow off valve that makes the compression surge sound, without it being a compression surge just a normal blow off valve?

LUKE: "Wouldn't the stock one be sufficient for this? I can understand an aftermarket one if you're pushing big boost but I'm not sure if there are massive gains to be had other than for wank factor."

Sorry, I didnt word that too well. I should have elaborated further and said to either reconnect the standard valve, or to get an aftermarket, depending on his preference.

Just curious, but i'm fairly sure soarers lights automatically turn off as soon as you remove the key or open the door (Can't remember which one)

1 bar, 14psi or just a little bit under, i know its boost cut i just wanna know why, before i plugged the hose back into place, with the blocking device there, i could adjust my boost controller accordingly, now i have removed this blocking device and plugged it back in.. im hitting boost cut straight away.. i even tried turning my boost controller off and it still hits it...
