Mrs is pregnant which will make child number three which means I will need a five seater car. I have noticed that there is threaded holes to possibly mount a middle seat belt, anyone done this before or have any suggestions?

buy a second car Ross, an lpg ford or commonwhore, then you can keep your soarer for weekends and give it the tlc it deserves. Besides, kids kick the back seats and thats a pain in the ass.

Mine is registered 5 seat too, with the belt. But I reckon it'd be pretty uncomfortable sitting on the hump between the seats. Maybe alright for a kid though. A seat belt supplier might be able to help get one that fits. Try this http://www.hemco.com.au/seatbelts.html#gpsb

Thanks for the input and confirming that's what the holes are for. I was thinking of mounting a baby seat in the middle of the rear seat and using a centre belt as a part of the anchoring system for the baby seat for the times when that I take the family for a cruise in the Soarer. I do have the family wagon for the more regular family transportation.

Not at all Callum. Most places that sell/install baby seats recommend putting them in the centre of the back seat as it's the most protected area, versus putting it on driver/passenger side. As long as the seat is properly secured using the anchor points and seat belts it is fine. Of course baby will also have to be properly secured in the seat too!!

I have a fifth seat belt, but I still don't see my car as a 5 seater. With three people in the back there is not a lot of room but if its for little kids you could still keep the soarer as a family car for the next few years, unless its a four door you really need.
One of my Soarers (the 97) is complied as a 5-seater, my other one is a 4-seater...
BTW, for all the parents here on SC, which babyseat would you guys recommend? I have a little girl due in December and after a convertible seat capsule thingymabob... it looks like a miracle fitting a babyseat in the back of a Soarer.
