I would be happy if petrol was $5 a litre. It wouldn't make much difference to me but there would be less traffic.
News flash. If you've blown a wad of cash on a high performance big motored car, you probably have the cash to put petrol in it. There will be no flooding of any market.

Yeah there will be MIles, You should have seen the Sydney market when Petrol was almost $2 litre !!!
Xr8's , SS commodores ,Falcon Turbos, you name it, big motors were selling cheap as ! Even guys with old school Cortina's, Torana's and Hot Rods . Prices were insane ! People were desperate !
I say their all stupid,lol ...
PEOPLE PAY $4 for a 600ML BOTTLE OF WATER FFS !!!! $4 for a 600ML COKE !!!! $5 for a 600ML RED BULL !!!!
World is full of stupid people who look at prices the wrong way round !
I remember racing at the drags when 98 was $1.90l here in Sydney . SOme guy was saying " oh man im gonna have to sell the car now petrol is $2L " ...
I Said " So you paid $5 for a 600ml gatorade and your whinging about paying $2L for petrol ... Your a F*&King retard champ !!!"
To which all his mates laughed at him and said " he's right man " ...
WAKE UP Society and just deal with it !

Your missing the Point Ali .....
People dont need to pay $7+ Litre for drinks , but they do so without hesitation ( im guessing your one of these by your comment, lol ) .
But whinge like biatches when petrol goes up 10c litre .
You dont see people whinge when they pay $3 for a 2 litre coke, and then $4 for a 600ml varient at the servo ...
Thats my point ! Do yourself a favour, Note down Every bottle of drink you consume each week, from every place you buy it from ( supermarket, local shop, whereva) Then tell me how much you consumed in drinks ???
Simple exercise that makes us actually appreciate what we get for value for money with petrol .

if petrol goes up my 10c, on average in soarer youd be spending an extra $7.50(75L tank). where as if drink 10L of coke a week, priced at $7 a litre you spend 70 dollars on coke per week.. but if the price of coke goes up by 10c your only paying a dollar more per week. do you know what im trying to say here? anyway personally i dont care about the price of coke, gatorade, petrol, milk or alcohol, when i need it ill buy it without even thinking about the price. im not like those people who drive around for 20 mins looking for the cheapest petrol in town.

Dude ... You pay $1.5o /l for coke in the supermarket, but pay up to 7-8 bux / L at servo's .... So for the SAME product your paying up to $5.50/litre difference without complaining day in, day out .

I agree with what Daniel is saying how there is a alternative to buying softdrink at the supermarket for much less etc and yet we'll go to wsid for eg and get ripped off for a hot dog and coke and not think twice about it, but you don't have that option with fuel when it goes up. I feel it hard for when i buy diesel for my truck at 114c per litre as oposed to 190c per litre it quickly turns a $340 tank into a $590 tank which i can tell you makes a huge difference in a financial year. Anyhow to your earlier comment Miles, im happy for you that you can afford to buy loads of fuel at an hypothetical $5 per litre but i can assure you that there are many who could not. Just look at europe where there is a massive trend of of sub 2litre engined vehicles and where one who drives a 2litre would be considered wealthy buy others and yet their fuel prices are around the $2 mark. Another point id like to make that it is a misconception that all people who can afford to buy the expensive car can afford to maintain and run the thing. check out the prestige auctions over the past couple of years and see how many repos have been going under the hammer, youd be surprised. Let alone the amount of expensive cars ive seen with my own eyes that have been run into the ground by people who cant/ dont bother servicing them and upkeeping them cos its just to dear. Anyhow enough from me now
