David I have no trouble getting in or out of my car. No, it certainly is not falling apart. This is one of the reasons I ask myself these rhetorical questions, and of course to have others, like yourself make comment. Mark, you are absolutely correct. However, as I can only drive one at a time, I think the costs involved would negate that as an option. I really want the added luxury and ride comfort of the four door, but I have great difficulty in parting with the SC. I've now owned it for 5 years and every little bug has been ironed out which makes it about as good as a 14 year old car can get. Do I get something else and start all over? Not that a project is a bad thing, but to loose a friend certainly is.

I know where your coming from Mike. The thought has crossed my mind several times. My wife loves the Soarer, and although she has never had a look at a Celsior/Lexus, she doesnt like the look of them in the photos. I, on the other hand, have sat in several, but not driven. I could be tempted by a tidy LS400. I have the 2 Soarers, so no big deal if I got rid of one to get a Lexus. My car is a toy, the wifes is our every day car. When my bike days are over, I will definately be looking

Mike im glad you threw some good pics up of your amazing Soarer with those new wheels, they really do suit that car and the colour very well. Not too 'blingy' yet still enough to grab attention (from the right people).
As for your predicament - Im assuming you just feel as though you need a new project to spend some time working on? Im the same, thats why it kinda hurt when i sold my white Soarer considering all the time and money i had put into it to make it MINE.
As much as i love the Celsiors/ls400 i still dont think i would buy one as i really dont have the NEED for 4 doors.
Only you can answer this question mate (assuming it is not actually rhetorical as Dave mentioned.

Mike I am currently facing the same dilemma as you. I want to buy a Hilux Surf 3.0td but I can't bring myself to sell the Soarer, as I have spent a fair bit of cash ironing out the problems and adding quality enhancements. Decisions, decisions.
By the way, your Soarer is one of the tidiest ones I've seen on this site.

I wouldn't go the LS400 or Celsior as they both look old compared to the Soarer, I would consider a GS300 which are a lot more modern and can look the goods with a nice set of wheels.

Rob, I have seriously looked at exactly that, but unfortunately they don't go. Sometimes there is the odd one (later than 1998) fitted with the TT engine, but they are very rare.
I know what you mean. I've just recently swapped my 91 V8 for a 99 Tarago. Even though I still get to drive the Soarer I miss it now but family is a on a higher perch than cars for me now.
Saying that though, I could always play around with my 97 single turbo but for the moment it's the garage queen. If I had the cash I'd got for a 98~ Aristo V300 (if I could ever find one).
