The lid was coming off on mine so I decided to glue it back.. but had a little peek inside and took some pics because it looked cool!

What's even cooler is that the whole circuit board is covered in some clear jelly stuff that is damn near invisible!

These are a robust unit.

Just for kicks, anyone had a legitimate 1J/2J ignitor failure where it wasn't submerged in water, torched by engine fire or short circuited?

I am aware of a few ignitor failures on 100% original soarers in good condition.

Cause of the failures were unknown but fixed by replacing them with a second hand unit.

I had mine go on the Mitsubishi Challanger a few months ago, started running on 4 engine light on then back onto 6 for a few days. Keeping these cool is the main thing, without the jelly they would not last long.
