so finally got my MANUAL half cut sent down from a seller in QLD, bit a debacle with e-go and shipping but it finally got to my house and after a long afternoon of getting it off a trailer its finally sitting in my back yard ready to be picked apart.

it has a few extra's i didn't know i was getting ie:
black dash top cup holder
brand new air filter
HKS speed cut defender
a boss kit with cruise control buttons
bilstien shocks
and a few other bits and pieces that are missing or need replacing off my soarer

the only things i need for my swap will be a few new seals and an extended drive shaft (50mm if i've read correctly)

is it worth swapping over the bilstien shocks, would probably have to track down a rear pair as i only have a tems set at the moment

once i have the engine out and turbo's off... how do i check for shaft play?

the dash says 190 XXX k's what reconditioning should i look at doing to the gear box R145

is there a way to test if the speed cut defender works? i dont think i'll really need it as i dont plan on flogging it past 180k's anytime soon. but if i decided to sell it i'd like to know that it works first

there's some BALLAST high intensity discharge thing plugged into one of the head light plugs and has two plugs coming out of it, is this just something that would have been used for a Head light kit?

Would be a ballast for a HID kit.

To check play, Grab the turbo wheel with 2 fingers. Push And pull towards yourself and try shifting side to side. Side to side play is ok (depending on how much of course) in and out play is the killer.

Pedders can check the suspension for you. It will hive you indication on how good they are.
