I would be quite interested to know what fuel efficiency people have been getting from their soarers, how the different driving everyone does affects their mileage, and how the different engines compare in regards to fuel efficiency.

I just worked mine out at fill up, 12.2l/100km on mostly motorway driving with some around town stuff, fairly heavy on the throttle. 2.5TT auto, stock engine.

in the next couple of weeks I will post my fuel economy figures from the last 5 years. I have kept almost every fuel receipt since I bought the car in April 2004 and have kept a note of the odometer readings.

http://appcubby.com/gas/screenshots.html

Within the last 6 months I have purchased an iPhone app called Gas Cubby which allows import of .csv files, which then shows fuel economy, fuel prices etc. etc. in all manner of bar charts and lists. Quite interesting.
Not that I'm obsessive compulsive or anything :-)

Indeed, and now yet another fuel thread to add to that list the next time someone asks. Eventually it'll have to be split off into its own forum!

Tell me about it.

I couldn't careless about fuel economy, its one of the most boring things to talk about.

Only Prius owners should talk about such a thing

13l/100km over 500km (65l of fuel), a good mix of highway and city driving with plenty of right foot.

My old soarer used to get about
12,000ml / 10 000,000cm

My starlet gets about 8L/100KM with plenty of 'fun driving' involved

I don't know and don't care what my fuel economy is. When the thing lights up, I put fuel in.

My last tank got me 550k's, bit of city and highway driving. And that wasn't going easy on the right foot either.

With just highway driving, and being gentle on it, I have seen 770k's to a tank.

To be fair, Topgear care nothing about facts and will do whatever they need to do to get a story (like running the battery flat before they start the "trial" for example)
