it's like that most days over here in winter ! damn cold ! makes me very grateful the soarer heater works so very well and that my shake and bake mirrors haven't been disabled |

That's correct Matt but this winter is slightly warmer than most due to it being very wet. I only remember 1 frost this year although others have seen more.
I was alluding to the weather of my youth in the NE of England during those winters, even had snow in June. |

Yes, we've only had one real frost here in Forest Lake - Still July/August to come. I think from memory last August we had at least one heavy frost a week here. Damn foggy this morning though! |

I've been to LA, can get rather hot there, plus forest fires & earth quakes.

It would have to be southern California, as they get snow in the north through winter.
Lovely little town called Oceanside, about half way between LA and San Diego is the place to be. |

I've been all over the world and came to the conclusion many years ago that it's easier to wrap up and get warm when it's cold than it is to get cool in places like Melbourne when the thermometer gets above 40C.
But if you don't see the sun for days at a time and it's wet and miserable then SAD sets in.
As Matt says, way up north is nice but people aren't queueing up to move up there. |
