Has anyone tried or knows about door switching? Stock ones being too heavy, anyone knows the costs, effort involved? And is it possible and legal to get it?

Any weight saving efforts you do need to be made in major steps not minor ones in my opinion. Lets say you save 20kg by getting different doors. Great your car now weighs 1780kg instead of 1800kg. If your going to go to such lengths to do this you may as well gut the interior get a new bonnet. pull the fuel tank and remove the sound proofing for maybe 100-150kg difference. But then its not a nice car anymore it's a track car. Just get more power mate. and more torque. Torque will carry any extra baggage you are carrying.

Between $1000-$2000 per door for carbon fibre ones from Japan. No idea how light they are, and don't care. They cost more than my whole car did to purchase. You should buy them, fit them, get defected, and sell them to me for $500. Andrew (well his fibreglass guru) was looking at making some from fibreglass but ran out of momentum after his work of art bonnet and bootlid.

Well, half the price of my car then. In that case I'll give you $350 once you get defected.

Screw you Ali, you drive a hard bargain. I'll give him $200 and that is my final offer. Now, where do I pick up my $200 defected and crashed carbon fibre doors during the deceased estate sale?

Haha, why would want the doors to be lighter. The soarer is a big heavy car so it has big heavy parts. Compare the soarer door to a normal car door, its far bigger, especially in length. I suggest just go get used to it, especially if it's a road car, by making it lighter all you are doing is making it less safe on the road.

Quality? Japanese parts 'premium' pricing? (eg. Greddy branded oil coolers are 11-12 times more expensive than Nippon Denso branded ones of EXACT same size, shape, fittings.)
