I come across Zetum tires and researched where they were from. They are made by Kuhmo Canada. They were made for the nth American market, but have been exported to Aust where they are sold by Bob Jane. a few others had them for a short period, but not now. I purchased ZU37,s (same as Kuhmo KU37) 235,45,r17 for $129ea at the bob jane sale until 31 Aug. I am not a rev head, my previous tyres were firestone eagle hawk T100's that lasted 58k kms. For people after a "good" allround tyre, I think they are very good value.(very quiet, "good grip" wet and dry) PS. i know there are "better" tyres at much higher prices, but for everyday value??

I've just bought some Kumho KU31's in 255/40/17 for my rear supra 17's. Bought them off the net, and when I priced the same tyre at local shop, I found out I got them for 66 dollars cheaper!

I went with Kumho KU36 semi slicks

245/40r18's front
275/35r18's rear

$1k the whole lot from Stylish Wheels on Moss St Slacks Creek... quite happy with them

They are not semi slicks they are intended for road use and they are from Kuhmo's passenger tyre range.

They are classed as ultra high performance road tyres.

Tim

How are they for fitment? I'd like to get 275's for the rear but think they might rub without rolling the guards. I've got 18 x 9.5 rears with, I think, +45 offset.

How's the wear? If I'm paying $1k for tyres I'd like to get some life out of them. (within reason)

Garry I reckon for the long term just get the guards rolled, or if it helps it (I'm assuming it's the the rear tyres that rub) when getting new tyres get them to slightly adjust the camber?

Camber is adjusted via the lower arm so increasing camber has zero effect on clearence to the guard.

The KU36's are big tyres I have 245's on the front and they are as wide as other brands 255's, the 275's on the rear with 9.5" rims and +50 offset fit on my car by the smallest margin.

Hmmm..
Might just stick with the 265's. Got a price from Bob Jane recently for $225 each for Maxxis. Gotta be better than the nankangs that I've got on at the moment.

Thanks for the correction Damian, I guess I just refer to them as that because they have a soft compound (by road tyre standards) and have about half the tread grooving.

Gary, they have worn pretty quickly, however I am covering around 60k's a day (and I'm not always sparing on them). I previously had Nitto NT555R 285's on the rear (on the same 9.5" wide wheels), so I had the guards rolled to squeeze those in.

As such, my vehicle is already good to take the wider bags.

I've been real happy with the tyres, the wear is to be expected, after all it only happens because I'm using them.

The car will hopefully being used a lot less soon as I plan to buy a daily driver to save on fuel and wear/tear costs on the vehicle... once that comes into play, these tyres will be perfect as the time it takes to wear them will be greatly extended :-)
