A top quality kit with correct globe design is more important than power output.

That being said everything being equal a set of 55w HIDs are certainly better than 35w.

says on the lights they should be hb4 but with new bulbs only hb3 fit. i dont know how many mates have got hb4 for their supra/soarer and they are too thick and wont go into the socket.
35 watt gives a little better light than normal 60w lights but try not to go over 6000k as will get really hard to see in the wet.
the 55w hids are very very bright and will almost definitely get pulled up for them unless they are angled spot on but give a lot better light at expense to oncoming traffic

you might find you need to swap the "o" ring from the original bulb to the HID bulb for them to fit...

I just got the $60 something kit from some guy on ebay with soarer in his username! been working fine for months now!

I have the 9005 HID's in my soarer and from memory they are 35w, they all fit 9005 or 9006. Good bright light as mine are 4300k they take about 5-10 seconds to warm up but are so much better than the factory globes and you almost don't need high beam as you don't notice that much of a difference when you use high beam.

i can guarantee that most of the hb4's out there wont fit. its not the o ring its the base is actually bigger by about 2mm. so when you buy them you will realise and will have to buy the hb3 bulbs and send the others back.
also with the hb4's one of the tangs is bigger so you would have to cut part of the tang off at the side.

they look like 6k
did you get 55w or 35w?
if you got the 55w will be brighter and usually less blue than the 35w 8k ones.
