Hey guys,
Currently trying to replace my drivers side seatbelt in my UZZ31 Soarer and have come across an issue.
The seatbelt I have put in is fully retracted and I cant extend it! We can easily hook the loop into the bottom rail, but there is not enough belt to actually pull it up and screw it to the top mount.
Same goes for the one we pulled out (old one) it wont budge either.

Yep! That's how they work.
I agree, after taking my belt out and replacing over the past few months several times. You can have a belt in your hands and think it's stuffed- actually mount in car and suddenly it works...
I finally have a rewebbed Jap-spec belt after mucking around since early June, and having car off the road for weeks with no driver's side belt.
