Not needed but very much want to do this conversion if i can afford it. just wondering how much it will be all up and how long it will take. i have seen some threads but they are fair old so i don't know how much prices have changed.
Since the 1UZ didn't come manual, you need to source a new bellhousing (CRS do a kit, so do Bullet) either go down the path of W58, R154 or 6 speed T56 and you're looking at at least 4.5k depending on the box.
Cameron, the manual from the 1J Soarer is an R154 box and yes upon mating with a compatible adaption plate will work. The 2J from the Supra in NA form (2JZ-GE) is the W58 which is a cheaper box than that of the R154 and won't withstand as much power and abuse. However Nathan Richardson is running 300rwkw through a 58 box, but best and safest option is the R154. The TT Supra has the R154 box too, JZZ31 NA Soarer has a W58 so if you want to travel down this path get one from a Soarer plus pedals etc so it is more closely compatible; same goes for the JZZ30 and it's R154. Hope that helps.
