pro tip: they're all the same. they all use the same transport and are in the end; all staffed by the same morons who you DONT want touching your cars.
it's not like each transit company have their owns trains that they privately use etc. they are more "middle men" who outsource the business to third party truck drivers / freight organisations and make their money by selling other business' products.
my personal experience with CEVA after paying them about 2 grand to transport 2 cars:
took ages. my car arrived with a suspicious scratch on the boot which took ages to get out. no biggie,
other car arrived with a battery that had gone flat, then they tried to charge it, crossed the terminals over... killed the battery and blew the main fuse which was a BASTARD to pull out. there was chips and scratches all over the WALD lip kit.
driver rolled the car off the trailer by taking the hand brake off.. tilting the tray and letting it basically fall off. left us with a dead car on the street that we had to push a three point turn to get it into our driveway. only to find out that the bastards has killed the car.
i would say "dont go CEVA" but - it's not ceva's fault.
ceva are an admin office staffed by women who book your business with other freight companies. who are staffed and operated by unapologetic thugs.
in short - they're all grossly neglegent dick heads who will not be getting any further business from me nor my family / friends.
actually while we're on the subject. one bloke i know who was going from perth to adelaide to attend alljapanday2011 and show off his car...
...opted to have CEVA's... "specialist truck carrying service"
GOTTA be safe right? well, see how that one is the cars are on an angle? well this one - the bottom rung of cars was "on an angle" and they didn't move the car "in" enough...
they then lowered the top rung... ONTO his car. complete write off. smashed all glass, bent the roof, bent the b pillars etc...
...and now ceva are refusing to pay insurance saying it wasn't their fault because they chaser is "too long" to fit on the car carrier they organised...
...so what. they never transport commodores / falcons / lexus????
ceva...
...indeed
personally - i vote use a RoRo boat if you NEED transport.
if not - get a mate, take a few days off work... and drive the car yourself.

I've used Ceva as well but had good experiences. First was a motorbike from QLD to Melbourne. Went hassle free and arrived when they said it would. Second was a car from WA to Melbourne. No issues there either and too arrived within time frame. Car cost me 700 to transport and bike was around 500.

I used CEVA to get my Soarer from Bullet in QLD to my door in Darwin.
I was told not to use them by a mate, however due to the price they offered compared to others, most of whom refused anyway, they are who I went with.
From my dealings, their price was good, had good communication throughout the process, and the car arrived on time.
What was found after that? My car turned up with the passenger window down due to the reg failing. The time of year meant that there was water damage to the rear seat and the cabin was full of dirt. The drivers door hinge was busted resulting in the door hitting the front quarter causing paint and panel damage to both, plus you had to climb through the passenger side to get in and out before I adjusted the quarter panel in as a temporary fix.
What happened next was of the biggest surprise though. Called them up, the lad I spoke to said he would have to talk to his manager, he got back to me in the hour and advised that all damages would be paid for.
Some guys came around to quote on the damage and a day later it was booked in for repairs.
Three days later I get my car back with a paid invoice for $2300. It cost me $1200 to get transported.
Whilst it was disappointing having my car delivered in the state it was in, the service I received following was very welcomed.
Just my experience.
Cheers.

I advised against CEVA as they 'lost' my car trailer for a month. It does seem to vary from one individual contractor to the next.
Patricks, however are a bunch of c#@ts. They tore my front bar off my Rx-7 in front of my (then heavily pregnant) wife and then told her it was like that when they picked it up. When she explained that she watched them tear the front bar off whilst unloading they gave her 24 hours to get three separate quotes and then paid the lowest.
Have had good experiences with TNT and Toll, Toll being the most recent.

It's the luck of the draw I guess. I've had bad experiences with Toll. Took them two weeks to deliver an exhaust and when it arrived damaged they wouldn't take responsibility. Then I used TNT who managed to lose my harmonic balancer at their depot and gave me the run around for a week. It ended up with me having to pay them a visit. A guy working there said they're about to close, so I told him he better hurry up and find my part as I'm not leaving without it. An hour later I had it in my hand!
