Hey guys,
Looking at getting a w58 manual gearbox for the 2jz james is selling (if its still available) or going the t3g route (my soarer has 176,000ks) with support mods. After some advice, and what people think.

Well if i went the 2jz route i would grab the w58 manual box as well, ive read the w58 issues on high horse powered cars so first was wondering could it handle the 2jzgte. Would it be worth the hassle i guess as well, and really could anyone see any problems with this conversion i should worry about. As for the t3gs, there pretty self explantory i guess. Just after personal opionions really, see if anything swings my descion before i go and spend 6-7k.

Dont mind the spelling mistakes. Iphone was having a fit and couldnt correct them. And with the t3g i wouldnt go manual, rather spend the money on injectors etc.. so to answer your question i guess you could say yes. The 176,000ks has got me rethinking the t3gs though i guess i should really be doing a compression test first.

I'd personally give the W58 a miss and spend the money elsewhere. But if you have it then you might as well use it. Depending on how you drive and the type of driving it should hold up okay. Mine is but I bet if I put it through a track day, pop!!

the t3g's are a little small for the 2JZ. Perfect for a 1J though. I'd head down the route of GT35R on a 2J. And with any sort of decent grunt pumped through a w58, it will not last too long. Some people can make them last, but it all depends on how they've been treated.
