Never believe Torque readings form a Dyno as they only measure tractive effort .

The only true way to work out Torque is on an engine dyno .

Otherwise , pretty stout @ rwkw though :-) Very nice

are you not happy with that torque reading? it seems about right. guys with supra's with stock twins 280-300rwkw are making 850-1000nm

how are these engines making so much torque when:

Ferrari 458 Italia - 420 kW; 540 Nm
Mercedes SLS - Torque: 420kW; 650 Nm

Like i said , You will not get a proper torque reading from a dyno session . Only tractive efforts .

ALi , however , you cannot compare the torque outputs of NA cars to forced induction cars .

Agreed. My Soarer put out about 350nm on a DD dyno. If it was on a Mainline it would probably be significantly higher.

Good numbers by the way Justin.

Cheers.

Ali, thats a flywheel torque measurement for the big benz. The torque measurements postef for the
soarer@900nm is measured after being multiplied by the diff/trans and is measured at the wheels as 'tractive effort'.

Think about what toyota gearboxes/transmissions are capable of transferring 1000nm to the tyres......none!

Bear in mind that, on dyno dynamics dynos at least, you can convert the tractive effort into a pretty accurate flywheel torque reading as well, and have it on the printout instead of tractive effort. My chipped 1uz made 355nm which is not far off the 1990 factory.

The big benz even has its torque restricted to protect the trsnsmission, as the engine is just too powerful!!

dd dynos are for holden owners cos you can easily tickle them to make more power

my car has been on both and made more on the dd than the mainline, i prefer the mainline printouts much better though, and it shows tractive effort and calculated flywheel nm on the same sheet, yet still its just that calculated not actual or even close, things like tyre size diff ratio have a big influence on this, i put on 19's and make 50nm more at almost the same power compared to the 20's at the same rolling diameter... rwkw is all crap anyway and not relative, my car makes much less than some charged 8's yet many more mph on the 1/4, different power delivery for a car thats the same weight and has same gearing and basically the same car different engine

dd/mainline/dynapack, it doesn't matter.

They're just tuning tools.

Agreed Aaron ... Doing the cals on my car on the Moroso calc , for the weight of it and its ET and MPH its making 276rwkw . Best it made on a Dyno was 260 .
