Hmmm, I'm curious, the HKS T3G's and ATS hi-flowed rebuilds have put out 290+ rwkw but I'm wondering if any have gone faster than Daniel's 11.89 on stock turbos with 250-ish rwkw?
Anybody know?

Somehow I don't think that's what he is asking Ben.
Micheal I haven't heard any 1/4 mile figures, only power figures like yourself. I would say that their are a lot less soarers equipped with these particular turbos in comparison to stock turbos, which may be a reason why. Also, A fair few people don't really bother with 1/4 mile times and focus on good fun driving, hence a lot of people doing manual conversions even though its slower. I would be curious to see some times also though, you would think with some/a lot of practice they would match and beat these times.

Ahhh, Mark gets it!
You can see where I'm going here, I have a sneaking suspicion that the car with 250rwkw on stock turbos might be faster (nine times out of ten) than the more powerful car with rebuilt twins. More power/torque under the curve and potentially easier to hook up and maintain traction.

i think you are right Michael. i have never driven the T3Gs, but i did have 2jz turbos on my soarer with around 270rwkw,and while they were more of a weapon on the open road, the stock twins were significantly quicker down the strip- entirely due to the quicker spool at launch.Things may have been different with a manual gearbox though.

No prob Ben. I'm a stickler for good Ingrish, this is a little clearer...
Hmm, I'm curious, the HKS T3G's and ATS hi-flowed rebuilds have put out 290+ rwkw but I'm wondering if any of those vehicles have bettered the 11.89 Daniel achieved using stock turbos and 250 rwkw?
I just noticed you're in Adelaide, don't think I've seen your Soarer around, what part of town? Mawson Lakes here.

A good single is going to be more responsive than the T3G'S, and make equal to more top end. a 3076 with .64 A/R is very near factory spool with easy 280 + rwkw.

Some amazing earlier times achieved without dumps too Jeff! It really does make you wonder which component is the key to maximising the life of those ceramic turbos.
I have new radiator, Hybrid FMIC, Blitz intake with homemade heat shield, e-bay dumps, single 3 into 3 1/2 inch exhaust, Bosch 040, Supra 440's, Haltech Interceptor, 1.5 Shift Kit, and 2800 Stall Converter. I've decided that keeping the Soarer and tickling it a bit further represents the best bang for buck I can get. So with that in mind I'm thinking cams or porting might be next on the agenda, any suggestions or advice?

michael, i promptly destroyed the motor due to an earthing fault causing me to have ten degrees too much timing! i then installed standard turbos and started chasing the then stock turbo record of 12.52 sec. At the time, daniel and i were going blow for blow, going 12.9,12.8,12.7, 12.6 etc. By the time i finally sorted my timing issue out, running a best of 12.3, daniel had already run elevens. Which i 'thought' was unbeatable."Thought"! As an aside, Ben Burgess squeezed 320rwkw out of his gt3076 and a 11.4sec, with spool as good or better than stock. He could really drive though.

I ran an 12.789 @ 111.83 miles an hour with a 60 foot time of 2.054. My car weighs 1810 kg with me in it and I had a full tank of fuel. I was running 19" king kong street tyres with a standard torque converter.
If you are going to compare t3g's vs standard turbos then you shouldn't use Jeff's efforts as reference as they are far from factory. Jeff spent around 40 hours porting his turbos, inlet/outlet pipes, inlet and exhaust manifolds etc. Plus his car is pretty much stripped out. It would be good to see his car on the dyno to see how much power that beast is making.
The fact is t3gs unmodified have made 320+rwkw well beyond what any stock turbo setup has been dynoed at and as far as I'm aware that was with the stock hks dump which in my opinion is horrible. Plus they are only a little laggier than stock. If you are after a stock look to keep the popos happy then they are the way to go. If you're not worried about that then go the 3076. Aaron's old 3076 setup was one of the best sounding turbo cars I've ever heard.

Great info guys, much obliged. Jeff, those CT-12's deserve a place in turbo heaven, I hope you give them a dignified send off if they ever kark it E-bay steelies go straight to hell, where they never get oil changes and they're forced to run with stock dumps...on a Skyline!
Sebastian, the 3076 sounds like a solid option, I'm not in the market for an upgrade but I'll have a look out of curiosity, cheers mate.

I am putting on the "new" stock turbos I bought from Japan a few months ago. They will probably die ina couple of weeks and I can put the old ones back on.

knowing what my brothers car was like to drive in all conditions (cruise, around town, wakefield park etc).
the turbo should be considered a direct replacement single setup for when the twins go.
it may not have the head room like gt35, t04z setup, but still have the tuneability of up around 280rwkw with standard like spool and snaps your left nut if your not careful with the right foot.
suggestion - open the hks t3g's up to supra setups
