TORSEN DIFFERENTIAL NIGHT
In response for a Members Branch Activity Night in Lismore , Mr
Matt Mason from Lismore Differentials will host and give us an
insight into the working principals of a Torsen Differential.
TORSEN Differentials are fairly common limited slip units used
in many applications including acting as the centre differential
on many 4WD vehicles.
The Torsen (torque sensing) Differential is a purely mechanical
device, it has no electronics, clutches or viscous fluids. The
Torsen works as an open differential when the amount of torque
going to each wheel is equal, but as soon as one wheel starts
to lose traction, the differential torque causes the gears in the
torsen differential to bind together. So come along and see how
these amazing units work
