Anyway have been lucky to get 12-18 months out of them. Car has hardly done anything it that time, as I share the load between cars. Now they are completely stuffed, will bash you fair on the head if your not careful.
What surprises me is my 91 TT still has original and working well gas struts.
Does anyone know where to get good quality struts, I would consider these gas strut guys struts total rubbish.

I also bought these gas struts off ebay from the same company mentioned above about 2 and a half years ago, still working great.... think you must have just been unlucky with your set Brett

I bought some Gabriel "Strong Arm" 4508 struts from Supercheap way back in early 2006 (there is a thread about this) and they worked well for the four years I had the car. They did weaken slightly, but were still able to hold the boot lid up OK. Maybe Supercheap still sells or can get these?

I bought the one from supercheap and they are worse that the factory ones I replaced in less than 4 years.
I need to find my stock ones from the track car and get them regassed somewhere. It is very embarassing having to hold your boot open with your head on a 'prestige' car.
