Hey All,

Didn't know where to put this, so I just put it in general. Anyways, I was driving my UZZ31 around last night, no problems, everything running fine and smooth.
Pulled up to a set of lights and turned right. As I accelerated (Not fast, just usual cruising pace) off from the line, the car stuttered a bit, as though it power were cutting in and out.
This stopped as I broke about 30 - 40 KMP/h, though continued to happen each time I slowed down and accelerated off.

Further up the road, I stopped at a stop sign, this time when accelerating off, it stuttered a whole lot more and was definitely VERY noticeable.
The car let off a quick beep (The same sound as when the key is in the ignition with the door open), just a single beep, not repeating.
I continued on my way, this happening for the next two stops. As I came up to a corner, I dropped the car into 2 then L manually, and back up to 2 then D.
After this She seemed fine and was driving normally again.

I'm just wondering what this could be and if it's anything I should be worrying about, or if it's a sign of something horrible to come. Sorry for the long story, but hopefully the details help :-)

Thanks guys.

PS. To clarify, by power cutting in and out, I meant throttle/acceration cutting in and out as all lighting and electrics seemed fine and did not dim.

Hey Phil, thanks for the fast reply!

If the Fuel Pump ECU is the problem, is there a way to test this?

Also, if it does turn out to be said ECU, is it possible to get a new pump from toyota or are these completely out of production?

to check the fuel pump ecu, go to the diagnostics port in the engine bay( front of LHS bank) and short FP (fuel pump ) to B+ (12v)

you can run the car like this whilst getting a new Fuel ECU.

I would check the coils and the HT lead from the coil. Measure the coils, primary resistance is ~ 0 ohms, secondary is ~ 12k ohms.

I've got a brand new Fuel Pump ECU for UZZ31 for sale if you're interested. Just bought it off Toyota and shipped in from Japan last week, waited 3 weeks for this.
