Most states they are legal so long as they are plumbed back into the system. Its the venting type that are not allowed. |

Sorry but could you further explain the difference between it being plumbed back into the system, and the venting type?

The venting type is the one you are probably asking about, it's the one that makes a whoosh noise or whatever, generally most aftermarket BOV are venting to atmosphere unless it specifically says plumb back.
Your car should already have a plumb back BOV which doesn't make much noise.
In Victoria, you will get pulled over by the police if they hear it. |

You will hear your factory BOV if you fit a pod filter.

Mine's plumbed back in but still quite noticable; although I do have a pod filter. Filter is boxed up but didn't affect the loudness. |

My turbo XR6 has a plumb back system, but was told by the Trans SA inspector it wasnt legal even though its a plumb back. (Turbosmart valve, adjustable)
Any other SA opinions?? |

Going by that, Ian, they need to put every stock turbo car made since 1990 off the road, as they all have plumb-back BOV's out of the factory. |

I have a Turbosmart Kompact series BOV plumb back for a XR6 Turbo Ian . Its a series 1 and non adjustable .

The inspector I talked to didnt have an issue, but said if they wanted to get smart, they would can it.
I will keep it in mind Daniel. Just got some other options on the go at the moment. |

Just get one and hide it if possible. I had my blitz dd hidden on the ic pipe. Regency inspector never found it. Although this lad was from mt gambier and he was pretty laid back |
