yeh Mike is right, but mechanical stuff like recent servicing, new tyres, battery etc attracts people.
Yeah totally, when I sold one of my Soarers back in early 2007 (omg 5 years ago!) the buyer went for it purely because the water pump and timing belt was done, usually that servicing job can make or break a deal.

Best way:? Well honestly, People who know soarers buy soarers. I bought mine after researching spec sheets, I loved it before I ever saw what the car looked like.
I've sold my car a few times, ebay is good. In the end though I've turned down the sale cos I find i love the car too much.
I agree with Mike. Timing belt, New battery, all electrics working. Clean unbroken leathers (if v8) ... else the trend is to strip it .. guys are making far more out of stripping them then they are selling them whole

Problem with stripping a car is, you've got to be prepared to take the money in dribs and drabs and wait for it... plus the effort involved in stripping the car, plus the effort involved in shipping, plus having the space to leave a wreck while you pull it apart.
Unfortunately, if none of the above suits your circumstances, you're left to fight it out in a buyers market and most likely cop a loss
Worst thing about owning a car which is the great unloved.

Yeah the market sucks.
You have a 5spd though...That's worth another $2k over the average and shouldn't be too hard to shift.
I bought mine for $6000, once I get it to perfect conditon (might take another 2 years), then I will just be keeping it.
It will stay as a sunday drive car I reckon.
No point selling as I'll just loose my money
So far I have done Replace wheels with 18" legal rims and tyres $1100 Air Con compressor $400 fitted Upper Control Arms brand new $200 Lower Control ARm Bushes $200 Labour to replace bueshes $380 FMIC
Still need to New Rear Bar fitted and painted (cracked) $500 New mufflers to replace twin cannons (too loud) $500 New Carpet $150 Respray dash and doors to black $200 Rear Bushes bought and fitted $400 Steering Bushes bought and fitted $350 New Steering wheel and Boss kit $150-200
Down the track Replace front bar $500 Get Sideskirts refitted properly $200 Repair minor small dents and Full Respray in Pearl White OR Black $3-5k Turbo Rebuild and High Flow $1250 + $500 labour Tune $500 Replace Suspension for an enjoyable comfortable ride $1500 Replace High Beams with chrome ones to match headlights $300. Timing Belt/Water pump rebuild
So whats that $12,000 in mods to go.
But then it will be a seriously sweet ride, one that I can be 100% happy with.
When people spend $15,000 for some Hyundai piece of rubbish I think $19,000 for a unique and compeletely restored Soarer is a good price.
