Got my car on the road few weeks back now, been driving it pretty much non stop :-)

Took it down today to get a dyno run to see what it's got going before i get to work on beefing it up.

Seem's a bit low going on what the soarer wiki says it should have from stock

Is this a TT or V8?

Do keep in mind wiki's factory KW is from the flywheel, and not the rear wheels, which im assuming is where you got this result from.

Yeah, its the 1jz VVTI single turbo, The ECU was reset when it got imported from Japan. Might need a new ECU or just a tune. still deciding

world of war craft......

121 is what i would consider low as well. my stock twin turbo made 153. if its the stock ECU a reset means nothings. flat battery = reset ECU, pull the efi fuse for 30 seconds = reset ecu.

I think what he means is that the ECU had previously been re-tuned in Japan, but it was reset back to stock settings in QLD :-)

Maybe when they did that they didn't do it correctly.

Also another option i wondered about..
Do you think your hand controls could interfere with putting the pedal down all the way? Maybe it's just not flat to the floor...

yea 121 kw...what setting were they running on the dyno too? (plus dyno's need recalibration too so who knows?) Does it feel sluggish too? Maybe test drive another stock soarer for comparison?

Nah, i don't think the hand controls make a difference, they pedals still have full range.

They guy was complaining about not getting any traction on the dyno because it was pissing down with rain yesterday so that could have been another factor to add into the equation.

They charged me $150 so i don't really want to go take it down again when it ain't raining but i will probably have to if i want to get a true reading out off it :-(

If you can, possibly take it to the drag strip, should give you a good indication of how healthy it is.

All dynos read differently anyway. Though 121rwkw isn't on the high side, have you performed a BFI? guessing it's 100% stock to return that figure.

I saw a vvti pull a figure of 120rwkw at a dyno last year. Turns out a compliance cat was the issue..

The standard ECU cannot be tuned, unless it has a Mines etc chip.

Whats a BFI James?? I asked my dad and he's an ex mechanic and he didn't know what it was.

If it is the compliance cat they stuck on that will be gone when i send it in to get a new stainless steal twin system put back on the car

Jason, have a look at this:
http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/67/81.html?1098303234
similar thing is to remove the airbox, and put a pod filter there, with a box around it to stop the hot air from engine getting to it..
