If you are going matt then I would just do it with a $3 can from cheap as chips. They will always look dirty too. Otherwise just come out to Malalla and I can paint them brake dust matt black for you...
Satin or gloss would be much better. Black wheels with a red pinstripe look tough. Black wheels on their own look like you might be about to commit a felony.

A place called prestige coating is who I rang. They are having a look Monday and said I need to get them sand blasted which isn't much either. Then they are dipping the wheels in something. I was also thinking white wheels with like a clear or gloss on them.

They might be acid dipping the wheels to get rid of any contaminates maybe.
Keen to hear how it all goes. I wanted to powder coat my supra rims fluro green. I ended up paining them, but I reckon the cost of the fluro paint (not cheap!), white base, and clear coat would probably have cost me more than $120. And don't forget how much labour I put into them.
