So I'm looking at getting some tyres for my new wheels which are 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 and I was looking at those two tyres. Does anyone have any experience with these two tyres? There isn't much of a price difference but just wondering if there are any good or bad points with these tyres. Thanks in advance

mate maybe look up tyre reviews if your trying to get a feel for the difference between the two. also if you dont mind me asking what are you planing on paying per tyre?
Not those two, but I have Uniroyal RainSport 2 on my daily Soarer and Nitto NT555 on my GS300 (17" sizing, 235/255 on the Soarer and 235 all round on the GS300) and my God these stick to the road like on a blanket.

i have much the same thoughts about my toyo t1 sport's in 235/40/18 front and 265/35/18 rears but not the cheapest at $300 for the front and $400 for the rears

At the moment, I don't really have a budget at the moment as I'm still looking. I guess I figure, if the tires are good, then I'll spend but when I go, I would go in with a few different tires and see what they could do. I'll look into those two tires. They seem pretty good. Do you think it would be unwise to have different brands between the fronts and rears?

Well, on public roads shouldn't be driving fast during wet weathers anyway, how could you risk your car!
You don't have to drive fast in the wet for semi-slicks to become dangerous, mine used to have Toyo RA1s on the rear and it would attempt to get sideways in the wet just going around a roundabout at 30km/h. It is about security - you want to know that if you have to brake hard or swerve to avoid an accident in the wet that you're not going to turn into a 2-tonne spinning hockey-puck.
To the OP - the RE002s are the replacement for the RE001 Adrenalins, which had a reputation for being a good all-weather street performance tyre, and sold like hotcakes. The S001 is the replacement for the RE050As, which were OEM fitment on the likes of HSV, Porsche, BMW etc - an excellent all-weather tyre. I've got the RE050As on my Corolla at the moment and they are awesome - the only time I break traction is at traffic lights in the wet when one wheel hits the painted white lines (stupid open diff).

I didn't really get much issue on Toyo R888 even in an evo X here, the only time when i got into real trouble was when i was in a gtr35 back in Singapore, that caused a hell of a day getting around. But then again, constant hydro planing in Singapore is common unlike here (well not in the city and nearby suburbs at least).
