Hey guys,

My Soarer has BA Falcon mags but it has stock Soarer wheel nuts. When i went to the tyre shop to get new tyres, the guy said the Soarer ones were wrong because the bottom of them don't fit the Falcon mags properly..

So, i went to the Ford wrecker to get BA Falcon nuts but he said they wont fit on the soarer due to different thread type?

What should i do?

Cheers

I believe that the BA falcon wheels use nuts which are the same as the aftermarket acorn ones. M12x1.25

my soarer uses 12x1.5 nuts, i found out hard way by buying 1.25's the first time... (only did this last week)

its to do with the shape of the cone part and the coinciding part of the wheel that the tyre shop is talking about.

I have a box trailer with Ford PCD on the wheels. I expected to be able to use Soarer wheels (I have 10, plus 2 space savers) but while they fit, the Toyota nuts won't go onto the studs. The only wheels that work are the space savers because the Ford nuts will clinch onto the cone part- Soarer nuts have a flange/cone part for space saver use. The only way I can use the Soarer wheels is to change the studs or the hubs+studs(which would be easier and cheaper). In tried a whole bunch of different nuts (not that I wanted to change nuts as I have a heap of Spare Soarer ones).

Auto bahn have a range of nuts as well as tyre shops. You'll be able to get the right size/shape nut in the Toyota thread pitch easely.
Normally about $1.50 a nut
I've got 3 types for my soarer and one is for ba falcon wheels. I'll try and find a receipt normally has a part number.

Daniel, I'm not short of Toyota nuts, I can't find nuts which will allow use of Toyota wheels on Ford threads. I tried a whole bunch of them.

Mike have you gone to an autobahn and asked? Normally they have a book with about 20types. Well my local does under there counter. I took the nut I wanted and just told them a thread size. I've also used a jax store before.

Rory ill get a price for you tommorrow mate might be cheaper to buy and ship accross. Depends how urgent you are for them etc. Shorly a tyre place could order some for you though?

Thanks Daniel that's kind but hopefully i have it sorted, i went to a Toyota wrecker and asked for a set of nuts that would work in the scenario. He gave me some and i will try them tomorrow, they say 12M 1.5 on the side...

Sure did, I've seen the book you mention and went through it with the local car place guy in Exmouth, and ordered in an example of each nut which looked close (having measured the Toyota nut). None came close
