Hey everyone!

So I've been having some trouble with my window regulator on the passenger side, so, following the guide here on SoarerCentral I figured I'd have a go at replacing it.

http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/9739/12132.html

Everything was going well until I got to the part where you have to remove the "4 slotted disc fastener." I can't for the life of me get either of them loose, let alone off.

I've tried putting some rust removal liquid on there to see if that would help, but to no avail. I've also tried using large needle-nose pliers and no luck there. I also tried the "3 flat-head screw driver" method as the OP of the guide used. Again, no luck.

Any tips?
Thanks!

Try the needle nose pliers, solid ones, put a large screw driver between the legs, close to the disc fastener, and see if that works. A helper may be an advantage.

So I got those pesky discs off by using a blow torch and melting some candle wax in it! They came off very easily after that.

But onto the next problem...

After I got the window regulator and motor out, I took off the old regulator, and as I was about to pop in the brand new regulator, it un-winded!!

So now I'm going to have to try to re-wind the regulator, which is a difficult task. Darnit, can't believe I let it unwind itself.
